TTF is Now a Free Service! Game Professionals Needed!

TTF Black LogoI didn’t think I could do it. TTF is now a free service.

Today, I found out that I could remove the subscriptions from the site’s members and cancel their recurring payments from paypal. So, I have done exactly that and removed the paid subscription plug-in I had been using. I had previously thought that only the members could do that, so I made a big fuss in order to make sure no one was inadvertently charged for the service.

Can I Still Use the Site?

Yes! Everyone’s log-ins have been preserved. So, if you signed up before TTF became a free service, you shouldn’t have any problem getting in.

I’m New! Can I Use Your Site?

Yes you can! TTF is a gateway to help Tabletop Game Industry freelancers find work! So if that is what you are looking for, you are more than welcome. The Jobs section has been opened up to be used by anyone signed up to the site. You can set up a profile and add writings and art into your personal gallery.

Timeline Ltd Needs 3d Artist

Timeline Ltd. Is looking for an aspiring 3d artist for work on a new product – The PD Morrow Project Shield. This will be a 22’’x11’’ three panel screen for the classic Morrow Project post-apocalyptic tabletop role-playing game. Those interested, please apply within.

It’s a Launch!

Launch! The past few days since the site officially launched has been very interesting. The enthusiasm of new people discovering has been intoxicating. I’m sure the site will be a help to the tabletop gaming industry.

However, there have been grumbles in the feedback, too. The first complaint is that at the time of this writing, there are no jobs listed. That will change in time. A tipping point will come in which game publishers will see this site as the place to go to find good, reliable talent. That will take time and legwork to promote TTF and bring the publishers in.

I would also like to point out TTF has great profile and gallery functions that will allow you and your work to be SEEN on a site that is specifically made to attract the attention of game publishers. Why risk them running across you accidentally somewhere on the internet? Anything posted here is still under your copyright. TTF claims no ownership of your work.

The second complaint is that TTF is a pay site. True, it is and I’m not going to apologize for it. There are several reasons for this:

  1. It keeps me from using advertising to fund the site.
  2. It keeps out the riff-raff. I mean spam, mostly. I want to make certain that the primary audience coming to TTF are gaming professionals. I don’t want to dilute the quality of the listings.
  3. The prices are reasonable. The $5 Freelancer membership is the equivalent of a cheap lunch out. The $20 Publisher membership would be about the price of a pizza. The memberships are per year, and not per month.

I hope that helps! If you have any questions, I can be reached through out contact form on the FAQ page.
